Welcome to
Co Life

More than a human perspective

Description of your mission

As time passes by and the population expands, humans have progressively taken over more of the surrounding environment. We often forget that there are over 8.7 million species living with us on Planet Earth. Many of our actions and choices, cause biodiversity loss, meaning some species become extinct. This is particularly well visible in the cities. In the most recent human development, there is an extraordinary change of use of land, meaning urbanisation of rural areas. That leads to convertion of natural habitat into built-up spaces and causing threat to biodiversity and natural habitat.

We call you to take action to change your neighbourhood for the better! Your ultimate mission is to build a BioIntervention of your choice and thereby contribute to preserving local nature and increasing local biodiversity. In order to achieve that, follow the game we designed for you!

Below, you will find an introduction video to each key aspect of your mission :)

Also, if you scroll down this page, you will find more useful information about the Main Goal of the Game, its Logic and you will have a chance to learn more about the BioIntervension to construct.

Main Goal of the Game

The goal of this project is to increase biodiversity in urban areas through small steps that will ultimately make a big change.

The first one starts with human beings, becoming aware of our impact as living beings in the great cycle in which we are all a part of. Through small insect hotels that everyone can build by themselves. For this DIY we will provide the necesary information loaded in this website and the users during this process will feel and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Main Aim of the Game_edited.jpg

Logic of the Game

Here, you can will find the general framework of the game. It consists of four chapters in total: a preface, namely Biodiversity in your city, and three main phases, that is Construction, Placing and Sustaining. In each phase, you will find many minigames that will aid your understanding of key principles and the topic in question, BioIntervension! Apart from interactive games, we propose some analogue activities that you can share on your account on the wall or simply hang in your home!

Chapter 0:

Biodiversity in your city

Here, you will learn more about biodiversity, why is it important for us and what can we do to increase it.

Chapter 1:

Constructing

Here, you will learn more about the construction details, such as what materials and tools will be used. There will be also DIY!

Chapter 2:

Placing

Here, you will learn more about various aspects that you should consider when choosing place for BioIntervension.

Chapter 3:

Sustaining

Here, you will learn more about methods of keeping track on your BioIntervensions and getting familiar with its inhabitants!

BioInterventions to construct

We invite you to explore the story of the project creation, development and launching!

Through this story you will learn the background of each work and learn what were the main challenges that the students faced or objectives that they wanted to reach!

Here, you will get to know all the upsides and downsides of designing process as well as get to know about a designing approach called system thining.

Gallery of your BioInterventions

Take a look at all of the great works of others and see their BioIntervensions!

That is truely impressive, isn't it? The authors of these truly outdone themselves :)

Now, after all the hard work, it is time to observe the magic of the natural habitat creation.

Take a peak every now and then and see how the interventions are being inhabitated!
